We've reached the mid-point of my planned story line for "The Caretaker" and sharing it here.

The Caretaker (Day Four - Wednesday)

This is my first full video with music added (pulled from YouTube's creator library) and it's also my longest one yet: 10.5 minutes assembled from 150 or so 10-second clips generated over about a month plus about 40 hours of time (much of it multi-tasking as the bots generate failed attempts to make my wishes come true). Only mentioning that because I think there's a misunderstanding that AI Generation is quick and easy... it CAN be... but it's only quick and easy as compared to building sets, hiring a film crew, finding and directing real actors, and especially for short shots that the bots can keep in their heads all at once. Anyhow.

Mr. Sully's plans are driving to fruition.

Also plugging my 5-part short series "Cupid's Spark" - for which I created a playlist to watch in order. I mentioned it in my Day Three thread but figured why not mention it here, too.

Thanks for watching!

Produced a somewhat longer short (and still didn't fit it all in... so there will be episodes) - Sub Rosa Episode One.

It's an idea I've had bouncing around in my head (and on my speculation folder) for a while... not sure how many parts it'll have but I'll go ahead and shut down any speculation... it's NOT going serial recruitment. The guy's on the run from Liberforge, who experimented on him. He hides from them by hopping golf/work widows through their network of friends (because the shadowy forces hunting him know he can't control men). One at a time - he can't handle a herd or make permanent changes.

Anyhow, if you're still reading, I have a bit of a weird question to ask about "The Caretaker" - only for those who've watched and enjoy it.

The main storylines are set (Mr. Sully, Iris, and Brad) through to the end of the story... and I know the things I've set up and want to pay off. However, I've got author-blindness.

I don't see the setups I've UNINTENTIONALLY set up. And that brings me to my ask:

What have I set up in the story that you want to see paid off?

I don't want to miss them because, once I'm done with this one, I won't be revisiting it for a while (I made a HUGE mistake choosing THIS slow-burn, iterative story as my THIRD effort... but I'm committed to finishing.  ). If you've read any of my "mind control porn" reviews (see below if you haven't) - you might notice that I make a lot of wishes while I watch stuff... often to be disappointed because it's 5 minutes of story and 55 minutes of banging. Well, I'm the opposite... 95% story and 5% non-porn-porn.

What's your favorite, un-resolved setup in my story so far? If I can incorporate them into the decisions I've already made, I will try to pay them off (as long as they are already set up... I'm not intentionally setting up ANYTHING else... I'm just asking for payoffs because I KNOW I'm missing some).

Thanks in advance, although I know I'll thank you again if you post. :)

And Sub Rosa Episode 2 released.

In other news, I hit 100 subscribers (thank you anyone from here who are among that number) and made a thank you video as well. Of course... if you were a subscriber you've probably already seen it.

I want to say that Cheer Teacher inspired to begin working on my own AI video project and to learn a bit about it. And learning, I have looked at several videos that are considered "great examples" and I have to say that Grim Tidings, your work is superior everything I've seen. Mostly, I think, because most AI video is mostly used for advertising now - essentially a spew of attention-getting garbage that doesn't need any coherence whereas your stuff has plot and structure.

And so far, my impression is that unless you want an endless stream of space ships coming out of the asses of dragons, AI isn't magic wand, it's tool like other things and requires time, effort and creativity to use effectively.

You just gave me chills, Svengli. :) Thank you.

What you don't see are all of the fails - I have about a 30% success rate with my clips... some of the worst-cases (omg doors and moving through objects) take 6-12 "takes" to get to acceptable. And I STILL see the artifacts every time I rewatch my stuff. I'm sure you'll get comfortable with that discomfort, too, eventually. :)

The effort is what makes it fun. And I do assert that, if I had the people, money, tools, and time... I'd have loved to have made films in real life (maybe someday... if I dream).

I'm looking forward to see what you create - and I'm ready to be humbled! Since Cheer Teacher is tagged as inspirational (chills) I'll share an anecdote: when you finish something, share it... even if you don't think it's perfect. I made 30-ish "photo stories" before trying 4 "video clip sequences" until Ms. Archer and Mr. Harrison came alive on my screen and finished the story. It was only after I showed it to my family (crowded around my monitor) that I even considered finding a place to post it. It's NOT by best video work... but it's representative of what I want to produce.

Dang, thanks again.

Oh, and Sub Rosa Episode 3 released.
