Yay! New things! Shiny new things!

Just a note on Deep Undercover: There's a slight title error there. It should be "Endgame 1-A" and "Endgame 1-B" for the two newest chapters. This is part of the experiment for this story- I'm intending to write several endings that all branch off from Part Eight. Eventually there will be an "Endgame 2-A" and an "Endgame 3-A" (etc etc).

Just browising through, lots of good good stories this week it seems. Too bad I'm at work right now...

Did get to read Algorithm though. Probably one of the few times a story has managed to make me laugh out loud. Was a very enjoyable, focused chapter, that of course also leaves you wanting to see what may happen next.

Another hot, sexy, and sweet chapter of Blizzard. It's nice to think of snow and cold on a hot summer's day like today.  :)

Gene has really grown over the course of the story, and it shows here as he deals with several of the story's more ambiguous characters. and at the end of the day, he's got three playful, beautiful, slightly-more-burdened-by-credit-card-debt* girls waiting for him.  :)

321 continues the glorious two fisted assault with Deep Undercover and Hostel.

The first chapter taken Taken at face value is stunning triumph for Avery and the evil side of the game and I have nothing wrong with that. Some of the best stories, some of my favorites ended just that way both on this site and movies and novels.

Tara here is completely lost. The one person she trusted most, Paul is dead at her hands. Tara has in essence become Cassie. Just a willing slave of Avery and if she killed Paul there is nothing she would not do for him.

She tops it off by subsuming Megan for her master.

That last sentence, "This has turned out to be an amazing week". Yeah, it sure has. And the new Tara is so very happy about it. Like she got a long sought after job promotion. I bet Paul felt that way too, just in the inverse way, in his last moments before the woman he loved killed him. Amazing in exactly what he feared and could have been prevented had the confident, smart Tara listened to his warnings.

It this is indeed the dark ending, you made it with cold blood that really shakes a reader up, seeing Tara so happy to be bad and so willing. And I mean that in the best way possible. Chilling.....

If it really is going that way. With 321 the curve-balls are always being swung at. Why am I using a baseball metaphor? I hate that sport.

In the next chapter we get a lot more lowdown on events. We also get some of the hottest MC I have ever read. Thanks 321!!

Tara's thoughts about Avery and what she is willing to do was just volcanic. And you wrote it to perfection.

I just LOVED the method she came up with and used on Megan to elicit Paul's hidden keys that installed in her for safety just for this kind of situation. You could have just gone a direct same old route of more control, but no, that was so very slick and hot. Just the supreme trickster. And the fact that Megan was unawares was just the cherry on top. Both of them, Tara and Megan under control, lost, confused betraying and being betrayed.

And of course Tara is so messed up she is still turned into Cassie for her meeting with the Lieutenant. Also was great touch where she is jealous of Cassie and hates to become her for fear of losing time with Avery.

This whole chapter was really MC at it's best, both in description and thought. Just pure brilliance in all ways.....and as a huge bonus...a great plot! What else could a reader ask for?

Avery really seems to be on top of the situation in every way right now. But I wonder....Paul was a pretty sharp cat and I don't think he went down so easily.

The line of the chapter for me 4321:  "Master loves me as much as I love him."

Yeah, Tara, sure he does.

But I know one thing, I love this amazing story and I don't need to be hypnotized to believe that.

Then of course we have Hostelwhich now could be called, more accurately Brothel.

Sweet Alice reveals some secrets to her thrall Rebecca. Why not? She's under her control and Alice has big plans for her.

Rebecca and Emily meet again but they don't know it's really each other thanks to Alice's mental ministrations on both of them.

There is an exchange between them where Emily talks about how her 'Rebecca' is a hypnotist where you get the feeling Rebecca is going to make this breakthrough and start to realize what has happened.....she felt so close there.....

Rebecca has pangs of conscience about what she learns and about Olivia. But Alice is always there, the devil in disguise, trying to keep Rebecca nicely in the fold.

We also get more about the hypnotic history of Rebecca and Emily long before they went to Europe. I said it before and I'll say it again, I think this history will play a part in what eventually happens.

In the end, something very interesting happens. And it makes me wonder.....did Rebecca have that first breakthrough?

Another great chapter in the second terrific story by 321.

Amareth Falls by Miss Praxis give an excruciating blow by blow account of a woman's conversion into something else. Since Praxis made me like and care for the victim, Amereth, it was hard to take at times. But that didn't mean it wasn't hot or amazing to read. It was both.

The world building here and fairy were also very unique and so well done. I really liked everything about this story. Well thought out and written in all levels.

See fear of that kind of thing is what's held me back from getting into Deep Undercover.  Reminds me of the brutally grim endings of the Adjusters.  Something about Deep Undercover raised warnings of a similarly grim outcome.

I think I'll continue to hold off until there's a clear consensus on which one is the good/happy/Not bleak ending.  I'm unusually sensitive to such things.

*waves pocket watch* Of course it's there... it's always been there. You just didn't see it the first time, but it was there... you're certain of it now...

Also, a haunted house story? I'm gonna have to check this out right now.

EDIT: That was a great short, S.B. Incredibly spooky and just the perfect dash of disorienting, nightmarish horror to boot. With ONE exception.

I suspect Simon forgot to add it the first time around and then updated the page in-between which would explain the inconsistency. No biggie.

Subroutine (Kallie)  has got me well and truely hooked.  I particularly like the slow pace and the uncertainty in the minds of the girls.

Unfortunately there seems to be a lag between the posting of each segment but the story is well worth the wait.  Very little seems to happen each time but there is a definate and inexorable build up towards........?

Come on, Kallie, lets see the next chapter.
Far away is close at hand in images of elsewhere.

Getting started here. And for those who havent noticed yet, there is a swansong set of pieces this week from some old lady who probably should have retired years ago, not just now!

Algorithm

The trouble I have with this is deciding which would be the most fun role for me here. It should be Alice, but... ;) This chapter is as strong, and delightfully as ever, and you should go read it, programmed or not. Cant wait to read the next bit, given where this is left.
High end of definitely enjoyed

And, Wide Awake

Fun hypno piece, loved the teasing going on in this. And thats all before the big reveal at the end, which I just loved. Must be careful who I get as a chauffeur when I need one!
Definitely enjoyed

The Merger — Spirals

Sorry, but it has to be said. Mr Card, here is my neck, please come and bite it! If you wish to seduce me first, thats fine, but seriously... And yes, I've worked out the surname, lol! Seriously, the scene before he arrives on the scene is red hot for me too. This is a great series
High end of definitely enjoyed

The Ultimate Rush

Yes, be careful who with, and where you play hide and seek lol. And yes, again, that vampire could take me anytime she wished. A great build, to the inevitable fd climax. This is fun, I must say
High end of definitely enjoyed

ZXY

Another fun hypno piece, this time its pretty clear where we're heading, with minimal resistance, though I do wonder how much she really wanted to resist in first place?
Definitely enjoyed

Thank you for the kind words, CerebusOne and fumanchu.  :)

And don't worry, CuyahogaKingKong! At least one of these endings will end happily!

Just finished the latest chapter of Subroutine and whoa, everything I like about this story is on display here. Harper wakes up from her brainwashing session (seen in Chapter Six) angry and ready to take down the person responsible for all of this. Or is she? Will the temptations of controlling her roommate, and being controlled by her in return, prove to be too much? Does our mysterious mind controller have a few more tricks up their sleeve?

I wonder what everyone else thinks about Harper's newfound insistence that they deal with the problem asap. On one hand, it's definitely a bit selfish. On the other:

Always asking the difficult questions here  :). For me personally, I find Erin's role maps best to my own preferences so far. I love the idea of fighting for control, and even gaining it to some degree, only to ultimately fall sway to the "real" winner I've tried so hard to defeat. Makes it that much more special than just being the pawn who gets caught early, but I definitely don't begrudge others their own preference.

Still a lot of story left to tell, though, so who knows where everything will wind up. For all we know, Alice might be the dark horse winner who winds up claiming everyone else in the end.   ;)

She might well be so, but I have my doubts.

Part 2

Blizzard

Loved this whole chapter. The girls are cute, the family are great, and Gene just deserves a lucky break or two, and sometime he might get one with the weather!
High end of definitely enjoyed

Fair Game

OK, the end section spoiled it for me, because up until then it was a fun way of equalising (or more) the contest. But judging by the previous work, and the other one this week, that may be the authors style?
Low end of definitely enjoyed, definitely a compromise mark

Foot Star

I've never really got the foot fetish thing (though I have had mine 'worshipped') to be honest, but this is a fun story regardless, as Callie just gets herself in, ever deeper. Love the way that just changing toenail colour didnt work though.
High end of definitely enjoyed, being maybe a shade kind for a different idea?

Miss Calculated

Valerie sort of gets what she deserves, Rebecca, not sure, she didnt seem a charmer, for sure. Beyond a bit of 'be careful what you wish for', not a lot here for me.
Easy way out, no rating, just on taste, and feel

A Standard Physical

Cant say this did a lot for me, but it was a first effort, and enough to make me read at least one more. It lives up to its title, its pretty standard mind control stuff, but if that works for you, its nicely enough presented at least.
Low end of definitely enjoyed. Might be a notch lower, but I'll be kind for a newbie

Thanks, Merry. Honestly, this was inspired by the idea of Changeme's Media Whore (which I haven't read in a long time) in that I wanted to write a story about somebody who becomes a different kind of celebrity and, after shooting it off to Simon, I realized I hadn't put that into an author's note. The idea seemed odd and new-ish, so I ran with it.

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

I'm really enjoying the way Gene's managed to grow. I've been trying to write Gene as a caterpillar in chrysalis to becoming a real hoopy frood who always knows where his towel is. And

Blizzard

Loved this whole chapter. The girls are cute, the family are great, and Gene just deserves a lucky break or two, and sometime he might get one with the weather!
High end of definitely enjoyed

He's certainly poised to get lucky. Glad you liked it!

Thanks Shadra, fumanchu, Merry, and strikeThree! Tiffany certainly does have her hands, umm mouth, well something full anyway  :P

And special thanks to Shadra for,  ::), browising through all my typos (repeatedly) and the the great editing advice.

Been short of time this week so only managed to read Sub Routine so far.  Super hot and interesting questions being raised by this one.  The plot, as they say, thickens...

Among other things...  ::) (Yeah I'll get my coat)

Fit to Serve: I'm still loving it. Has so many of my kinks. It's one stories I look forward to in all updates.

Foot Star: I'm not into feet, but I'm into females being mind controlled into sex workers. I'm also into them changing mentally and getting tattoos and doing there nails. I'd love a longer one about girls turning into porn stars of all kinds not just foot fetish ones.

Deep Undercover

Oh god, I'm loving this, but would still love a session, or 6, in Avery's brainwashing machine, but why would he want an old mare like me when he can get all these pretty young fillies? This is an ending, one of the options, but which one, who knows? Regardless, cant wait to see more
High end of definitely enjoyed. Avery puts me in that machine, Master can have whatever rating he desires! ;)

Fit to Serve

I might have the issue that I'm beginning to dislike Jay, but other than that...? Loving the outfits, loving the changes in Courtney too. Maybe I need employment as a maid?
High end of definitely enjoyed

Naughty Girl

Oh goodness, I've worked in call centre for far too many years to not laugh at this. My big put off is all the Daddy (and odd Mummy) stuff, which is a big turn off for me, sadly. But if you enjoy that...?
Sorry, low end of definitely enjoyed is as good as I can give to a story with that much Daddy fixation

Whatever Gets You Through The Night

I love the 'B&E scene' that isnt, that is hilarious, especially so, when it comes to actually moving something, and the response. In truth the rest is as good as ever too. What is the Ministry of Science about to do, hmm?
High end of definitely enjoyed

Thanks for the reviews Merry and Erebus! I'm obviously messing in some other fields, but I'm glad you're enjoying Fit to Serve still. Don't blame Jay for the way he is, Merry. He can't help it any more than poor Courtney can. And it's going to take a bit of time for them to acclimate to their new roles, so they need all the support they can get.

I've noticed some time ago that my stories don't seem to be to your taste.  Which is fine.  Not everyone has the same tastes and others have expressed satisfaction with my work.  But to be fair, this story was born from one of my "sprint" attempts.  Sort of a quick and dirty story that I wrote to get me warmed up for other projects so I didn't put as much "umph" into it as I would some of my other stories with more depth.

I've got more stories in the works, several part of a larger series.  At first glance some of them may seem simple and "written with one hand" as you so delicately put it but start putting them together and you'll see a puzzle coming together.  Got a lot of work to do and sadly not that much writing time to do them in these days but hopefully in the future you all will see more of my work.  Those of you who have expressed enjoyment of my stories, I thank you.

As for you Merry Brooks, I found your threat of physical violence against me, even if made in "jest", to be less than amusing and in extremely poor taste.  If you truly find my work that dissatisfying, simply confine your review to a "No rating" or opt not to mention it at all as you've done in the past.  That is the truly diplomatic and decent approach.

Stuck in the Past
by Robotunit8

The Waxworks looks like a fun club. Wonder if I could go? It's over in America, which makes the commute a tad large for a drink, but what the hell, I could make it a fun weekend, couldn't I?
I admire Miss Nicholson enormously. If I woke up like that you'd be very hard pressed to find my sangfroid.
High end of definitely enjoyed.

A Whole Different Look
by Robotunit8

Now that's a disguise I could use myself. How much is it? You could make a legit fortune selling it to students. And there's a pod. I love pods. There's a turn this story takes I didn't expect. I love that. But there is a problem. The story turned sour when one of the masters suggested a rather unsavoury experiment on two innocent and charming characters. That was circumvented in the story, but it still leaves a sour taste. Would be high end otherwise.
Definitely enjoyed.

Walking on Sunshine
by Robotunit8

I don't think I'm giving away a spoiler when I say it's set in 1935 at Santa Monica Beach. I've never been there but ru8 makes it sound very nice indeed. Movie studios and technical stuff and weddings and honeymoons abound. This is a delightful fun story but it's marred badly by the message embedded in the story. That spoils it for me rather a lot, actually.
Low end of definitely enjoyed. Compromise rating.

I find your reviews  interesting. Alternate suggestion, if you don't like something that much, don't review it. The others who you've been encouraging here really seem to appreciate your time, your take, and your interest. You're encouraging people who need it. I don't need it, I'm a hermit and a brat. But others do.

Merry, please do not let one disgruntled 'person' upset you!

Writer345, I think you have slightly misunderstood Merry's position here. If you look back on your post, you'll find Merry's statement directly above your statement that I quoted here. To save you searching, I'll copy it here...

And then people wonder I have considering giving up totally a few times, and am doing so again now. I honestly think some would be happy if they got no reviews at all! I might review something else at weekend, instead of stories

To me, Merry's statement is unequivocal. It is NOT one person who has upset her, it's many, presumably over the years. That's my take.

Now, Writer345, I agree with your further statements

Your reviews are the lynch-pin of this forum and us writers have come to look forward to your good humoured opininons of our work...  We need you!

I for one enjoy reading about the stories that I don't have time to read and look forward to the good  natured banter that often develops between writers and yourself...  Your review pointed out a plot hole in my last story which, thanks to you, I was able to fill thus making "Yew and Me" much, much better as a result.

Merry is the only one who tries to review every story. Okay, she sometimes doesn't succeed, but there's no one else who comes close. She's a valuable asset who's loss will be felt by a lot of people here. But that's not the priority now, Merry is. I'll personally be devastated if Merry stops, but that's strictly up to her. Conditions change and the longer one is online the more problematic things get. We might, as you say, need her,  but is the feeling mutual?

The only position I think I can hold here is to back Merry in whatever decision she takes.

Thank you, Betsy, for the reviews. In the case of the first story, its not only the commute you might find an issue, the fact that the Club was 'in business' in 1927, and shut down, err, a few years ago, might also be an issue.
The second story, and the disguise, you'd have to ask Gene, or Nigel about the cost, Robbie was only the initial guinea pig. As to the 2 innocent and charming characters, thats not what Robbie said about them! :P They've got out of town, so I think they're safe now, anyway
I have been to Santa Monica Beach, a number of times, but never in 1935. Well, not in this life, I suspect Clara did on days off! Well, I'm not thrilled by the message you're talking about, but given how much of a struggle these were, and I had to leave JD to edit the mess, its a choice that has to be made. If they do sort out my brain sufficiently, then I would try writing again, but not otherwise. Indeed someone has suggested an alternate name, I've got an alternate concept idea, but it needs a doctor, Mr Frasier, or the like to do some major neural work for that to happen. I might also be getting some other bodywork issues sorted too. ;)

And now, back to reviews, Part 4

An Episode of Lingerie Enslavement

I must be careful who I let buy me lingerie in future, clearly! Not that I've got a smart phone, but anyway... Oh fine, I'd love a satin negligee! Its certainly a fun story, thats for sure
High end of definitely enjoyed

Frontend Development

OK, this was sweet, and oh to be in Rose's place, and I can think of a few vintage actresses I'd enjoy being in the Willow role, opposite me. Like the fact its an interesting mix of consensual, and non consensual here
High end of definitely enjoyed

Hostel

I loved the casual way Alice owned up to what she ran, and as we know, its not strictly a hostel! Just a shame I'm far too old, and not attractive enough to get a stay there, I'd love it. Oh, and the whole story is an absolute delight too.
High end of definitely enjoyed. If Alice wants to brainwash me, she can have more

Nani the Fuck

A story of 2 halves. Loved the first half, not keen on the ending, but fine, I'm an old softy that way. But would I wear some of those outfits, you bet I would!
Low end of definitely enjoyed, as compromise

Subroutine (Kallie)

Oh god, so jealous of Harper here. Can someone please provide me with one of those latex suits, and masks, I'd happily put the mask on. And no, its not under my bed, as I have one of those beds with drawers in the bottom, whatever they're called? I loved the whole build here, as to how far Harper would take things, loved it.
High end of definitely enjoyed. If she's gone one more step, would have got more, but I suspect she will.

Last 4 to follow, though one of those is a number of sections, and quite lengthy, so not sure of when

Oh, and double post to cover all the comments.

Yes, it has happened a few times in the past, to put it mildly, both over comments, and spoiler complaints, which is I why I mention actual story content so much less now.

As to the current author, I'll say it once, he attacked at the wrong time, and that was mainly the reason for the outburst as it was. The last few days I've been in even more pain than usual, the back has been really bad, on top of all the brain issues I've got at the moment. And yes, I've got a brain scan on Friday, and however much I might enjoy the 'wired up with multiple electrodes' stuff (oh I will), I have to worry about what they might find. When the best option seems to be 'only epilepsy', thats not great?

ExtantElan, I worked out your stories, and me, werent going to get on, so I stopped reviewing, apologies if that hurts. As Pan will tell you, that doesnt mean I cant get on with people generally, it just helps to cut the workload.

I'm pretty certain I will carry on, unless they decide to put me down on Friday, lol. But yes, thank you for all the support, so much appreciated

Merry, I'm not saying you should stop doing story reviews.  God knows there aren't enough of them out there.  Since I've started writing five years ago people, any sort of feedback I've gotten about my stories has been few and far between.  If you think my stories are bad, feel free to offer comments on how to improve.  If you don't like the overall theme of the story, simply say it's not to your tastes like you did in your "diplomatic" answer and move on.  The purpose of my earlier message was to address the fact that threatening to castrate me because you didn't like the content of my story was not a review or feedback.  It was a threat and that's not acceptable under any circumstances.

I saw your follow-up message stating that my prior comment came at a bad time.  I'm sorry you're in pain and I genuinely hope that you recover.  Please do continue your work as a reviewer.  As I said, there aren't enough of them out there and I have enjoyed/appreciated your reviews of other stories in the past.  My earlier post was simply to point out that threats of violence against an author serve absolutely no purpose and, if anything, will only deter a writer from continuing to work and improve.  Long time ago a story I posted on AO3 that received a comment where someone told me I should go kill myself.  That comment got me down more than it should have and if not for the support of some good friends who enjoy my work I probably would have quit then and there.

All I ask is that you please remember to show some tact, especially if you're attempting to offer a review about a story that you really disliked.  Now I hope you have a nice day and recover soon and, if you live in the USA, Happy 4th of July!

Long time ago a story I posted on AO3 that received a comment where someone told me I should go kill myself.

Yes one of my stories, I think it was on Literotica, received a similar comment...

I just posted back saying "You First"...  I never heard from the idiot again!

The one thing that I did notice about the Trolls on Litorotica, they all had the same name --- Anonymous!  And I bet that was the name of the one that had a go at you.
Far away is close at hand in images of elsewhere.

er, has anyone seen my TARDIS?

I once had a writer tell me that he was going to come and beat me up, for giving a spoiler on his story, even though it was near the end of the week, and most that were going to read it would have read it by then anyway. Funny thing is, he wasnt that far from me, but if he could find me, in the whole of Huddersfield, I'd be impressed!

No, Raptor, I'm not in the US, but thanks for the sentiment anyway. I posted a picture on Social Media today (Facebook, and Twitter) of Mae West dressed as the Statue of Liberty, thats my sort of level of 'humour', I'm afraid.

ExtantElan, what would be more interesting to me (and I'm sure a mind control element could be brought in) would be a soul swap into a young flapper's body. It nearly happened to one of my favourite silent movie actresses (that no one has ever heard of), Gertrude Olmstead in a 1925 movie with Lon Chaney, titled The Monster. She was restrained (of sorts) on a table, set to have her soul swapped with another, but was rescued before it happened. But me, swapped into a flapper body like her's, I'd be thrilled!
Now, if you want to turn that concept into a story, I might start reading yours again, lol! Challenge issued? ;)

EEG is tomorrow, sadly only scanning electrodes, not brainwashing ones, but I can dream!

Who said MC was just for the young?   :P   My preference would just be with the MC without the swap, but whatev's
It ill be a while, and probably under a different user name (though if you keep doing reviews this won't be a problem). Something you posted a while back struck me, and I have been holding on to the notion for a while though it will be changed by the time you read it.  The roaring 20's egyptology, soul swapping...

Literotica definitely has the trolliest commenters of anywhere i post to. Most of them are pretty nice, but a lot of places that sort of "go kill yourself" crowd doesn't even show up at all.

Storiesonline probably has the dumbest ones, though. I'm not fully convinced that a lot of them even read the story they're commenting over.

Fictionmania is easily the nicest. Maybe even too nice.

Mcstories basically doesn't have any, in my recent experience. Everyone stopped using email, or at least emailing me.

This was more or less the plot of "The Pyramids of Mars": a Dr Who adventure staring Tom Baker from back in the 1970's....

I suddenly started getting some for Crutch.  I think five all together, all friendly and encouraging.  It probably helps that my stories are ridiculously nice, and thus unlikely to provoke rage.  People might roll their eyes at my saccharine nonsense but not take the time to threaten me over it.

Only snag with the gorgeous Gertrude is that I'd probably have to invite her to try out a handy lesbianator device, but other than that...

Properly Handled (mc mf ff md fd in) (1 new chapter)  by Extantelan
A brother and sister grow closer over a shared love of mind control and other various kinks and perversions.

I genuinely love Kacy's evolution as a character. Maybe "Kitten" was who she was deep down all along, but it did take some nudging for her to get to this point. The mind control was perhaps the key to making her what she now loves being. She does not need to be controlled anymore. Yet, she loves  that control, whether she is actively turning others on or being made to. Easily the hottest of the threesome!

Over the past 20-odd years since I first read The Book (1st mc story I can remember) I've coincidentally been steadily losing the ability to imagine happiness, success, affection, etc in real life.  I've also been losing the ability to connect with real people. As a result I need positive fantasies and over empathize with fictional characters.  Its something In trying to work on and writing has actually been a big help.

I'm jaded myself. In addition to the depth of the abyss, I'm also a friggin' romantic sap. Positive stuff to be had in romantic comedy, after all.

I'm glad writing is helping.

To Mr.Potestas:

Glad you like her, but who doesn't like a ride or die chick with a freaky side.
:)
I will say, as the story is about down to the finish line, she is actually spun out of Bobbi. One late night writing session took an odd turn and Bobbi exhibited some of the characteristics that Kacy has and while I then realized that my subconscious had been telling me all along I needed a third character and she needed to be X, which would also allow Bobbi to be the loveably flawed sexpot she is now. That's all I can say for  the time being, but it is good to hear you are enjoying it so far.

I never thought that I'd get to review a Robotunit8 story, much less three of them!  :)

Stuck in the Past
I love the idea of "historical" mind control and diabolical brainwashing conspiracies; I'd love to write one of my own one of these days. This one is short and sweet, and our protagonist suffers the added embarrassment of being programmed to forget all about it and then, years later, suddenly having it all come back to her! I do love how the secret club just... ends. Were they raided by the feds? Did they feel the heat from some supers? Did the place just fail to make rent, like the coffee shop down the street from me? If I missed a clue, don't tell me- I like the story this way! :)

A Whole Different Look
Ah, secret agents and mind control! And a fantastic identity-changing invention that our heroine gets to try out, in more ways than one! Is it too much to hope that we'll see more of this in a future River City story?

Walking on Sunshine
One wonders if one of the -ahem- "talent scouts" on the beach that day would later go on to discover Rita Hayworth herself ("I've been looking for you for years- you still look great!" A fun afternoon at the beach, with many nods to the reader. Cannot imagine who this "other crazy woman" is, but I'm sure that I'll enjoy her stories as well!

If you like to think that way, lets just say the Crash killed off the business in Stuck In The Past,, as there would have been less wealthy clients after that event. The truth, I think they made business in a city for a few months, then when it started to get looked into, they moved elsewhere.
A Whole different skin, well, given JD came up with the idea initially, he may be planning to use it, but I cant speak for him. But fine, I wanted to give it a go before retiring, but thought making it the trial version, he can tweak it as he desires.
As to the crazy woman in Walking In Sunshine, I had to give myself one last cameo, lets face it. There are nearly 90 other stories on the archive by her, so if you do some back reading...?

And so to complete. Bit different set up, and longer than usual

Starting with the 3 standard ones

Amareth Falls

OK, fine, hot button pusher! That latex bodysuit, and hood sound absolutely amazing, to be honest. Well, maybe not the anal fitting, but otherwise (and yeah, I'd live with it if I had to)...But its not only that, I loved Sylphi as a character, she was brilliant. Sad back story, but if you want AI with attitude, she's the one! Great story as whole, so...
Low end of much enjoyed

Atonement (Half Shim)

And yes, my only possible complaint about this is chapter lengths! I'd rather go there, without causing a crime, but other than that... Great story line, great characters, and as for the milking process, well...
High end of definitely enjoyed, and yes, that is marked down for length

Sleeping Dogs

Story line really wasnt my scene, and really, really needs a major edit. If you can ignore the edit issue, and enjoy humiliation, its for you
No rating, tastes issue

And now to the variation on a formula

River City Stories, Volume 4

Let me say that the only story here I didnt really enjoy, was Kindred Spirit. Betsy will know why, way to many deaths, and I'm a sensitive old soul on those matters. Fine, the character of Harley Carpenter made me laugh, all the same. Other than that, all the stories not written by me (I am not narcissistic) are really good in their ways, and well worth reading if you get the time, and havent done so already. Because so chapter is over 10 K, I'll give it high end of definitely enjoyed

As to mine, as mentioned, thats it for me, shortly of medical miracles being done. And fine, I'm an old softy, wanted both of my characters to go out having fun, though I gather that wont last long for Robbie at least. I've wanted to do something with Native American people, and JD and I had been talking about the Adjustment Skins, I got approval, and went with it. She wasnt originally going to Hawaii, was going to Alaska, but I found Hawaii on Google translate, but not Inuit, so...
As to Billie, I wanted to go back to the 20's with her, she is meant to be Flapper Girl, after all! And yes, I wanted to make the marriage formal too! I have no idea if when she gets written about again by others, they will use her maiden name, or her married one, not for me to decide.

I also want to thank again all those that have read my 'rubbish' over nearly 20 years for putting up with all my stuff, an awful lot of wish fantasy in there! The reviews will continue for now, as will the 55 word stuff at the Garden, but that will be it. Sorry, ability to focus is busted, a hazard of my brain going slightly AWOL, so I'm taking the hint

Oh, and finally, as always, thats all for this update, thanks as always to all authors, reviewed or not

The Ultimate Rush

Yes, be careful who with, and where you play hide and seek lol. And yes, again, that vampire could take me anytime she wished. A great build, to the inevitable fd climax. This is fun, I must say
High end of definitely enjoyed

Thanks for ploughing through it and reporting on it, Merry. At least you liked Vampires. And FYI, my story 61 Days in River City was originally intended for this anthology, but I sort of got carried away with it. And, as you say, the other stories in this anthology are well worth reading.

That's always the problem, isn't it? I get a good idea and it turns into a novel. I'll have to work on making more shorts without trying to expand them into something large. But... I'm still working on Atonement. Hopefully should be all done in the next month.

I have to be fair to all, so therefore any update of more than 10 K automatically gets a 1 notch markdown. Its purely because of trying to read a lot of stories in a short period, thats all
