Title: The Writing Workshop
Post by: Daphne on January 27, 2026, 03:39:43 pm
This board is specifically for posting your original stories. Stories posted here are assumed to be available for reviews and critiques; if you'd prefer no commentary, note that at the start of the story.

Initial posts here should only be story posts. Everything else should start up in the parent MC Writing/Stories Discussion (https://www.mcforum.net/yabbse/index.php?board=4.0) board.

And, have fun!

Thanks, Daphne. Good idea. Any word-count limit? I have a 60k (so far) magical university story I was going to start posting. Will that fly or will that push the mods' good natures?

I don't have any problem with super-long stories. It's not my patience you need to worry about, but the readers'. :-)

Fair enough. Thanks.

I assume posting a link to a Google Doc or something would be allowed? Because reading long stories on the forum is not fun.

It's neither prohibited or encouraged. It's a bit easier for the reader of the whole thread to have the text right there, but there's no reason for us to prohibit it, so we don't.

In the interest in feedback from the community, I would like to post a story that will NOT be on Simon's EMCSA for reasons that young teens are a background to the tale.

No young teens are harmed.

If that breaks MCFORUM rules, please respond here.
thanks!

The basic rule here is that underaged people can appear in the story, but they cannot engage in sexual activity, or be present for it.

OK, I think I'll refrain since the teens are in the same house, while things happen they are not part of.
Thanks for the clarity.

I can't find the exact post, but the two examples in it were:

* An under-aged person masturbates listening to their older sibling have sex in the next room. — Not OK.
* An under-aged person covers their ears with a pillow in irritation over the noise of their older sibling having sex in the next room — OK.
