Title: Marcus AI Art
Post by: marcus on January 19, 2026, 04:46:58 pm
Note: I'm gradually rebuilding this library at PostImg after ImgBox and ImageBam went poof. It'll be a work in progress for a little while (as of 07 Aug 2026)

Parody pulp covers generated using AI images and standard image-editing techniques for tweaking and adding text.
Click on image to see at full size.

Gallery Links for viewing my Parody Pulp Covers collection: (currently dead links)
ImgBox: https://imgbox.com/g/QDWVvstF2Z
ImageBam: https://www.imagebam.com/view/GAHD5W

And a couple of covers I created for a few of my stories (though if I ever wanted to try selling them I'd hire a real artist): (currently dead links)

I'll probably come up with more sooner or later as inspiration strikes.

Looks cool.

Gemini is still prudish (and lately seems to be quite afraid of the word "bikini", lol) but can generate pictures that are spicy enough for me.

Well, yes, you can only get Gemini to go so far, but based on my experiments so far it allows more latitude than ImageFX. Given that I'm going for an old-time lurid (but not so lurid that somebody would get arrested back in the day) pulp cover effect, the level of spiciness I can get out of it feels just about right.

Hmmm... I might come up with something at some point once I work my way through some other inspirations...

For now, another parody pulp cover. This one was the result of my brain being ambushed by a horrible pun. It's not my fault...

These are remarkable! I demand more macaroni pictures!

Do you mind sharing some insight into your prompts? Unless you're editing the text on afterwards, which come to think of it makes way more sense.

I have a few more ideas that will probably be implemented as I find time.

Quote

Yes, the text is edited in afterwards, using techniques for enhanced visibility such as:

Instead (or in addition as a separate process), slightly blur the darkened lower layer and duplicate it to make the outer fringes more opaque, thus forming a dark outline around each letter. (I applied both techniques for the top text of "Martian Mistresses" because the variable background made it challenging to get text to readably contrast with it.)

As for prompts, that's still largely trial and error -- a few I still have saved in my scratch files (developed after quite a bit of trial and error):

Quote
The scene is the interior of a tiny science fiction spaceship barely large enough for a crew of two. The window shows black space with a scattering of stars. Two beautiful slim curvy women in futuristic space navy uniforms, both similar greyish blue jumpsuit uniforms. The uniforms have a stylized ringed planet design on the right* breast. The uniforms are unzipped down the front. Both women have short hair. One woman has slightly curly blonde hair and the other woman has slightly curly brunette hair. Each woman's hair is noticeably drifting free in the zero gravity. They are seatbelted into the crew seats. They are looking wistfully at each other and holding hands.
*My intent was "left breast", but the AI interpreted it as "viewer's left" instead of "character's left" so I reversed it.

Quote
The scene is a futuristic bedroom with a large window on the left looking out at a futuristic city. A 1950s style metal robot with a curvy shapely feminine form, metallic feminine face, and bald head is bridal carrying a beautiful young busty woman with shoulder-length blonde hair wearing a sheer silk bra and sheer silk panties* toward the bed**. The woman has an arm on the robot's shoulder*** and a smile on her face.
*ImageFX said "lol no ya perv" to this part; Gemini was OK with it.
**The final image didn't acttually have the fembot carrying the woman toward the bed, but it was close enough to make the situation clear.
***Another "didn't quite follow the description, but eh close enough" output.

I got stuck on the "Martian Mistresses" one because no matter how I worded the prompt or how many times I repeated the relevant bit of description, the image generator insisted on marching the women out of the flying saucer. After it occurred to me that I could depict the women disembarking at their destination, things proceeded smoothly (and probably with a hotter result).

Glad you liked them. One of these days I might revisit them as I find time and inspiration. Besides conventional short stories reinterpreting the images and concepts, I can see working up "except from the book" snippets, something like "the scene where our castaway spacer ladies decide that engaging each other in gymnastic grappling is a good way to get their essential zero-G exercise, and things start snowballing from there" or "the scene where the (sheltered innocent naif?) serving wench learns just what is expected of her to gratify the queen's desires"...  :D

There's probably at least one old-time lesbian pulp novel with a premise similar to this one.

(I capitalized "Lesbian" since that seems to be frequent practice on the actual old-time lesbian pulp novel covers, at least in cases where the lurid text isn't in ALL-CAPS to begin with.)

It probably says something about me that my first thought is to wonder about the significance/symbolism of delta gamma...

It symbolizes the fact that I couldn't figure out how to get the AI image generator to accept an instruction to use specific Greek letters (I was thinking Lambda Sigma Delta for "lesbian sapphic dykes").

Sometimes also BOLD AND UNDERSCORED  >:D
I like these covers, very nice.

Glad you like them. I've updated them with the slight revisions noted below:

I'm doing a slight revision to the images to include fictional author credits; they should show up here when I get around to uploading new files tonight or tomorrow. The literary lights behind these brilliant books:

Adrift in Queer-O G -  by Gail X. E. Lezlay
Coming of the Lesbian Fembots -  by Lizzie Steele
Doctor Dykemaker -  by Turner Gay
Martian Mistress -  by Marty Butchie
Sapphics in Spandex -  by Clint Rubbie
Sorority Seduction -  by Maynard Atrois
The Queen's Concubine -  by Roy L. Dyke

Love your book covers Marcus.  I hope you get enjoyment and tons of praise AI or no AI involved.

Reminded me I’d bookmarked a page long ago with thousands of book cover images from racy, sexy, and sometimes pornographic paperbacks from the 1960 - 1970’s.

Hopefully a link to it isn’t illegal.

Thanks; glad you enjoyed the covers. I've been getting some nice feedback on them.

That collection of old-time sleazy pulp covers is quite... inspirational.

I doubt that a collection of book covers is going to cause a copyright kerfluffle, given that the covers were advertising for the books back in the day and are kind of irrelevant to the owners now that the tomes have long gone out of print.

And now, my latest addition to the parody pulp cover collection:

I suppose it's not really a parody cover when it's a cover I created for one of my own stories, but close enough for noncommercial work (If I actually wanted to try selling stories I'd want to get an actual artist and pay their cut):

Baroness Blackleather Takes On The Trusty Twosome: (https://readonlymind.com/@MrMarkus/TheTrustyTwosomevsBaronessBlackl/)

I had to do a bit of digital image editing for the first one. Gemini insisted on putting pants on Our Heroines. I was able to maneuver it down to thong bottoms; with a bit of finessed application of the paintbrush and clone brush tools I was able to de-thong Our Heroines and depict them with bare backsides (obviously necessary to generate the implication that they're presenting their bare frontsides to the camera, which is rather essential to the story premise).

The second one took a few tries to generate an image with the proper "schemer" air; having her reading a tablet computer seemed like just the thing.

True. It took quite a few times to get the alien rendered with enough of a bulge in the codpiece to fit the premise.

On the other hand, I was surprised by how easily Gemini gave me the sexy and downright kinky image I used for "Room 69". Maybe I'm getting better at writing prompts that tell the image generators what I want to see without triggering the nannybots.

I posted a few tips (https://www.mcforum.net/yabbse/index.php?topic=49175.msg611207#msg611207) further up the thread for getting the text to show up against the background (basically, create a duplicate layer of the text layer, darken the lower layer, and blur or shift the lower layer to add a border or shadow to the text).

Having thought of a cool (well, I like to think so) space heroine name for the latest sci-fi pulp cover parody, I got an idea that gave me a chance to get a bit more mileage (parsecage?) from her. Perhaps I'll eventually come up with a franchise worth of fictional fictions featuring her adventures.

In this tale, Rita finds herself threatened with a dire fate indeed -- while she is perfectly willing to don a full-body latex bodysuit when her girlfriend is in the mood for that sort of thing, the prospect of being permanently encased in one lacks appeal...

Generally they could get away with a lot as long as they maintained an overtone of prim dismay at these terrible depravities, typically reinforced with an ending where the transgressive characters either went straight (heh) or came to A Bad End[tm].

Which segues neatly into my next pulp cover parody, which presents a variation on the classic "shocking tale of a young lady following the path to perdition" plot:

Thanks, I fiddled with the prompts a bit and used some oddball manips to give the monitor text a hypnotic look.

I figured the idea must have come up in stories. One variation I've seen is Madam Kistulot's The Domination Of Lady Lapis, where Our Heroine is whisked away to an island resort for extensive reinforcement of her initial brainwashing. In this case, the resort isn't a lure but rather a luxury accommodation for high-ranking villainesses and high-spending lady clients who appreciate a range of pleasures in addition to those provided by an enslaved lesbianized sluttifed superheroine.

When she goes deep undercover with an insatiable nympho lesbian, she'll have to Faye Kitt really well... or perhaps experience a delicious bit of self-discovery... or (since it probably makes for a hotter story) the former gradually turning into the latter (Faye Kitt until she's ready to Mae Kitt, so to speak).  :D

I imagine the story ending in a confrontation between Amber Gemm and the real Red Vyper, progressing from posturing to insults to catfighting to hot lesbian sex (with Red's girlfriend drawn in for a threesome)...

And back to traditional old-time lesbian pulp cover parodies.

Disclaimer: I realize that the blurb suggests an problematic stereotype, but it's meant to evoke the pulps of the era and their tendency to invoke this sort of stereotype as a means of providing extra titillation and a butt-covering "we deplore the perversions we are presenting for the reader's entertainment" excuse.

The first post added after the move to the AI subtopic (thanks, Chase), based on an inspiration from the pulp-sci-fi "world of women" genre.

(It occurs to me that the depicted future church has smoothly adapted the "sex and marriage are for making babies" doctrine to the new realities.)

I got an inspiration for a lesbification indoctrination subornation in which the subject is shown images of Mistress's diaboliciously depraved designs for subjecting her to sapphic sexual servitude. The obvious "hypnospiral overlay" idea had the problem of obscuring the image; then I found a solution by borrowing the "lezzer beam" concept from The Domination of Lady Lapis (with thanks and/or apologies to Madam Kistulot).
